Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any signup fees, termination fees or hidden fees we should know about?

For $1 and $2 Plans There are no additional fees for the $1 and $2 plans. The price you pay is just the fixed monthly fee based on your chosen plan. Support, data import, and training are included.

For the flat $50 plan For the first 200 users, support and data import are free. For more than 200 users, there is a small additional charge, which depends on the total number of users and the tools you have selected.

Can we host PlanMyLeave in our own servers?

No, PlanMyLeave is a cloud based SAAS software, and we do not allow customers to host it in their own servers

Is our data backed up in case of an emergency?

Your data is safely backed up every night. We can perform a full restore in case of any emergency.

Can we customize PlanMyLeave for our company?

We accept customization requests from all our customers and will incorporate the ones that are suitable for all into the product. For more customization you can contact us to see if you qualify for the self hosting plan.

Is PlanMyLeave hosted securely? What about confidentiality of our data?

Our servers are hosted professionally and your information is safe and secure with us. We use https SSL for data transfer between servers.

Can I export my data?

You can easily export your data to CSV. All reports can be generated in Excel and PDF formats.

Does PlanMyLeave have an API for data interchange?

Yes - Please contact us at support@planmyleave.com for more information regarding our API.

How do we pay for PlanMyLeave?

We currently accept payments via Paypal using Visa, Mastercard, and American Express credit cards. Larger customers pay by wire transfer directly to our bank account. All monthly subscriptions below $100 should be paid Semi-annually or annually.

How often is PlanMyLeave updated?

PlanMyLeave is updated every week as new features are introduced and enhancements done to existing features. Our Latest Update section will be updated every time we introduce new features. All new features are included in your monthly subscription.

Is PlanMyLeave available in other languages besides English?

PlanMyLeave is available in multiple languages like French, German, Chinese, Turkish etc, if your language is not available we will add it for you at no additional cost.

What happens if we upgrade or downgrade?

When you upgrade, you are instantly upgraded to the higher plan and you will only be charged the higher rate on the next invoice. When you downgrade, you are instantly downgraded and you will begin paying the lower rate on the next invoice.

Can I integrate PlanMyLeave with iCal or my Outlook calendar?

Yes. Your personal calendar is exportable in the iCalendar format, which is used by a lot of popular calendar systems, such as Google Calendar and Outlook.

Can a manager apply for a leave on behalf of another user?

Yes, permissions may be created so that managers can apply for leave on behalf of another user
Can we apply for backdated Leaves?

Yes, you can apply for backdated Leaves.
Can a user change his mind and cancel or edit a leave request?

Yes, based on company policies, users may edit or cancel approved leaves.
Can a user apply for a leave even if they do not have a balance of Leave time available?

Yes, you have the option of allowing a user to apply leave without a sufficient balance.

Frequently asked questions about the Approval Screen

Can the approver see the Leave Time balance available for the employee making the Leave request?

Yes. There are three balances shown; the current balance, the balance after this current leave request, and the balance as of the end of the year.
Can the approver change the request while approving?

No. Editing the Leave Request must be done from the Leave Request screen instead of the Approver screen (Dashboard -> Leave Requests)
Can the Approver ask a question before completing the Approval?

Yes. Questions may be asked using the Queries section of the Approval screen
Does the approver need to login to approve a request?

No, the approver can simply click the link in the email notification to approve the leave request.
Can the approver approve the leave request using the mobile.

Yes, the approver can approve the leave request using the mobile.
Can the approver approve multiple leave requests at one time?

Yes this can be done by checking off all the leave request next to the text "Update multiple leave requests" and click the link "Update multiple leave requests". In the window that opens enter a note if required and click "Approve". Please note that status of the leave requests would take a little while to get updated.

Frequently Asked questions about Calendars

Can managers see all their employees at once in their calendar view?

Yes, when Managers login they can see the all their employees in their calendar view by selecting the option "Users reporting to me"
Can employees see other team members Leaves in their calendar?

Yes this option is available. The administrator of the application can decide which employees can see leaves of other team members or other members in the same department.

Frequently Asked Questions about TOIL Overtime / Time off in lieu / Comp off.

Can we use formulas to calculate the Time off in lieu hours? For example, if an employee works on Christmas day we want to give 1.5 days off.

Yes. You can create a new overtime type for Christmas day and add a formula 1.5 X Hours worked.
Can we set an expiration date for the earned overtime hours?

Yes, it is available in the settings where you can stipulate if hours earned should expire in two or three weeks or X days from the day they worked.
Can TOIL requests be activated for a group of employees or a department?

Yes, this is possible by activating Overtime and TOIL for a group of employees or a department.
